Is it Spring Yet?
Making the best of things
I live in Wisconsin, in which all four seasons represent fairly well. This year, though, winter is being particularly persistent and assertive. I gather it's like that for the rest of the country, and I feel bad for folks who moved somewhere thinking it was going to be mild and finding themselves snowed in.
I was chatting with some pals in the southern hemisphere who have to go to great lengths if they want to see any snow, and I sent them some photos I took this week. We had a good laugh. They probably were wondering why it always seems to be snowing in my novels, and now they know!
One good thing about this crazy winter. If you want to strike up a conversation with a stranger, all you need to do is ask them if they're ready for spring yet. Even snow-loving Midwesterners are getting a little stir-crazy at this point. This month we had a brief window where there was still snow on the ground, but the temps were high enough that I could actually go enjoy it.
